My Grandmother always requested pink carnations....and truthfully I never liked them....at all.
In fact, I quite strongly disliked them.
But I have come around to appreciate the humble carnation. Spared from excess greenery and baby's breath, the blooms take on an almost peony-like appearance, but with impressive longevity. My sister bought me this bouquet for Mother's Day, and it is still going strong! And they are cheap - a full bouquet can be had for $7! That is what I call bang-for-buck!
